This is better absorbed but, the taste is less tart due to containing less free citric acid, as this new version is tightly molecularly bound to the magnesium. I have taken this brand of magnesium citrate off and on for years now. A few years ago, their powder would dissolve much faster, but it also was cloudy in the juice I dissolved it in, and there was also grit always left in the bottom. Now I realize that was probably a bad thing. That grit was most likely not magnesium citrate. This newer (for the past couple years) powder dissolves completely, and I think it must be much purer and safer. However, it does take a long time. What I have been doing is filling a nalgene bottle with juice, and dissolving the appropriate amount (4 teaspoons for 32 ounces of juice). I've been taking this supplement for a couple of weeks, roughly every other day. I only take 1/2 the recommended dose because I don't like toover supplement. It seems to be helping with anxiety sleep, and keeping my bowels more regular. From reading numerous reviews, I'll give a few tips. 1: follow the directions, use cold water. The label says magnesium heats up stuff, so don't add it to something hot to start with. May not fare well long term on the body. 2: follow the directions, add powder slowly. I use a 1/4 teaspoon measuring spoon that I tap next to my whisk to add the powder while stirring. 3: what doesn't dissolve well tends to sink, so I use the measuring spoon to stir in between gulps. 4: take quickly, there's not a strong taste to it, but there is a taste and it's not exactly a
